Four happy things

  1. Last weekend, both girls were feeling under the weather. Daisy had a high fever, and Lily was cutting a few more teeth. Nothing serious, but enough to curtail any outings and activities; therefore we spent the weekend holded up in our house, listening to Beverly Cleary's Mouse and the Motorcycle on audiobook, painting pictures, reading; basically doing nothig. (Well, J ran a half marathon, but I didn't go anywhere.) After eight crazy and intense weeks, it was nice to just be at home.
  2. This weekend we are going on a quick trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Daisy is beside herself with excitement.
  3. I have mustard-herb panko crusted chicken (with homeade breadcrumbs) prepped; lemon risotto (from Italy, thanks Mom & Dad!) and a salad (with home-grown lettuce and vegetables from the farmer's market) ready for dinner. Plus, Fudge Nutella cookies with sea salt baking in the oven. Not only was it an incrediably productive naptime (AND a cleaned up kitchen, AND a blog post? I'm on fire.), but the house smells delicious.
  4. This picture makes me smile. I am pretty sure I am going to have it printed and sent out with her high school graduation announcements.
